The Margaret McNamara Educational Grants (MMEG) programme gives grants to women in impoverished nations to enable them further their education and improve their lives.
The MMEG is one of the few organisations that assists women financially. In previous years, grants of up to US$15,000 have been awarded in the US/Canada programme, and grants of up to US$7,000 have been awarded in the Africa, Latin America, and Trinity programmes.

Scholarship Information: Our organisation is inspired by Margaret McNamara’s goal of education and gender equality. Margaret utilised her influence as the wife of the World Bank’s fifth President, Robert McNamara, to campaign for the recognition and inclusion of these key factors in development programmes.
Prior to her death, she was awarded the Medal of Honour, the highest civilian honour in the United States, in recognition of her significant accomplishments.
Scholarship Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following requirements to be eligible for this scholarship:
You must be a citizen of a country on the MMEG Country Eligibility List.
Be a female student who is currently enrolled full-time or part-time (minimum of two courses each semester or term) at one of the universities on this list.
Be enrolled for at least one academic semester (half year) after the MMEG grant is awarded in December (the term between January and July 2023);
Plan to graduate no later than three years after being awarded the MMEG grant.
If you are applying from another eligible country, you must have a study permission for South Africa.
